The Honey Deuce Cocktail is the official cocktail of the grand slam tennis tournament, the US Open. It’s made of fresh lemonade, simple syrup, Grey Goose vodka and raspberry liqueur. Garnish it with balls of honeydew melon for the perfect tennis cocktail!

I grew up playing tennis and while I didn’t really love playing as a kid, I adore it as an adult. It’s my sanctuary, my church, my time to think, play, laugh and have fun. How lucky am I!

I love making tennis recipes like my Wimbledon-inspired Strawberries and Cream Cake and Strawberries and Cream Cookies. Last year, I visited the US Open and tried this in person. And let me say, it’s delicious! Let’s make it.

Ingredients You’ll Need for this Honey Deuce Cocktail

Ingredients for Honey Deuce Cocktail.
  1. Vodka – The recipe officially uses Grey Goose cocktail. Could you use another type of vodka? Of course!
  2. Raspberry Liqueur – This is what gives the cocktail its signature blush color. I used Chambord but use any raspberry liqueur you can find.
  3. Lemons – We’re making a fresh lemonade for this recipe. I think it takes the cocktail from good to GREAT. It’s worth the extra step. If you want to use store-bought lemonade, see below for some tips.
  4. Honeydew melon – This is used for the garnish. It mimics the appearance of tennis balls!

How to Make this Honey Deuce Cocktail

  1. Homemade Lemonade. Start with making a simple syrup. I like this ratio because it yields a less sweet lemonade. Pour in the lemon juice and mix.

2. To Make a Single Cocktail: Using a shaker, pour in the lemonade, vodka and raspberry liqueur. Shake vigorously and pour in a glass over ice. Garnish with melon balls.

3. To Make a Batch Cocktail: Pour the lemonade, raspberry liqueur and vodka to a large pitcher. Transfer to the fridge to chill. Right before serving, add ice to glasses and divide the Honey Deuce Cocktail amongst the glasses. Garnish with a skewer with melon balls.

Recipe Tips

Single Serve vs. Batch Cocktail. I included amounts and instructions for both. If I was just having two cocktails, I’d use the shaker. If I was inviting people over, I would definitely prep the batch cocktail for ease.

Use store-bought lemonade. If you want to skip the step of making homemade lemonade, use store-bought. For this specific cocktail, I love the brand Santa Cruz’s lemonade because it’s not too sweet.

Top with Sparkling Water to make it even more refreshing. I loved this cocktail with a splash of sparkling water on top. This is not traditional but I think a delicious addition!

Recipe FAQS

How much is the Honey Deuce Cocktail at the U.S. Open?

I went to the U.S. Open in 2023 and was lucky enough to try it. It was $22 per cocktail. Yikes! Lucky for us, you can make it using this recipe for a fraction of the price!

It’s pretty close. I would say it’s slightly less sweet. And if you add sparkling water at the end, it’s even more refreshing.

To Make a Single Cocktail:

  • To a shaker, add in the vodka, three ounces of simple syrup lemonade, raspberry liqueur and ice. Shake vigorously. Add glass to a glass and pour the cocktail over it. Garnish with a skewer of honeydew melon balls.

To Make this Batch Cocktail:
