This is a guide on How to Make an Edible Football Stadium at home. This includes everything from a guacamole field to queso stands to sandwiches for all.
If you have someone in your life that is very excited about Sunday’s game and your attitude is more like “I’m in it for the snacks only…” slash, “Who is playing?!…” then this is a project for you.
In this post, I will take you through the supplies you’ll need, the foods you’ll need and all of the in between lil’ tips I figured out when making my very own edible football stadium.
Let’s start with da supplies!
Supplies You’ll Need to Build an Edible Football Stadium
- Two Desktop organizers (thess will act as the stands a.k.a chip and crudite holder)
- Four tall glasses (these will act as the pillars a.k.a holders for dips)
- Craft paper (to cover the glasses and make the flags)
- Two disposable mini loaf pans (these could also be bowls that you already have)
- One disposable baking tray (this could also be a casserole dish you have one)
- Four skewers
How to Build an Edible Stadium
- Start by covering drinking glasses in craft paper so they would all look super uniform.
- Next, cut out flags and glue them to skewers so the football stadium looks proper and official.
- Let’s turn our attention to the desktop organizers. If you like, you could line the desktop organizers with plastic wrap or parchment so anything you put inside doesn’t stain it (greasy chips, etc.) and then you could reuse them after you’re done with this project.
- Next up is the food. This can very depending on what you like but in my extensive research of edible stadiums, I found this to be a good combination of foods. I wanted all of the food to be able to be enjoyed at room temperature. I added the nacho cheese last. Most of these items can sit for a few hours and not wither away.
Food to Include in an Edible Football Stadium
- Guacamole for a ton of people This acts as the field with lines made from sour cream.
- Two types of salsa: red and hot and green and mild. Both were store-bought. (My favorite store-bought salsa brand is Casa Sanchez.)
- Doubled onion dip, using this recipe.
- Ranch dressing for the crudite
- Carrots and celery
- Kettle Brand Chips (the jalapeño is my favorite!)
- Tortilla chips
- Nacho cheese. (Velveeta is appropriate)
- Veggie Sandwiches
- Beef jerky sticks for the goal posts
Assemble theEdible Football Stadium!
- The next step is really putting the whole thing together.
- I started with the goal posts. I put a toothpick into a few pieces of beef jerky to get the pieces to stick together. Billy also came up with the smartest idea to ensure that the goal posts stand upright when placed in the guacamole.
- Here’s the trick: insert a toothpick through the bottom of the goal posts, leaving a little toothpick sticking out. And then stick the bottom toothpick into the (outside) of the 1/4th end of a lime. This will make it so the goal posts will stand right up in the guacamole.
- After that, make up the guacamole for a bunch of people.
- Next up is adding the salsas, ranch dressing and onion dip. Of course you can swap these in and out with other favorites of yours like blue cheese dip, etc. And then add the flags and each cheese and sandwiches. And that’s it!
- BOOM! STADIUM!
I think this stadium is the most fun thing in the world. I hope you do, too!

How to Make an Edible Football Stadium
Ingredients
Supplies:
- One disposable baking tray (this could also be a casserole dish you have one)
- 2 desktop organizers (for the "stands")
- Four tall glasses (these will act as the pillars a.k.a holders for dips)
- Craft paper (to cover the glasses and make the flags)
- Two disposable mini loaf pans (these could also be bowls that you already have)
- Four skewers (for the flags)
- Toothpicks (for the goal posts)
Food:
- Guacamole for a ton of people This acts as the field with lines made from sour cream
- Beef jerky sticks for the goal posts
- Two types of salsa: red and hot and green and mild. Homemade or store-bought.
- Doubled onion dip
- Ranch dressing
- Carrots and celery
- Chips
- Tortilla chips
- Nacho cheese
- Veggie Sandwiches
Instructions
- Before you begin, pick a table in your house where this will be displayed. Once it's all packed with food, it's tough to move around.
- Place the disposable baking tray in the center. This will act as the field. Next, add the desktop organizers and place them on the opposite sides of the tray. These will act as the stands. Wrap the glasses in craft paper and set them at the corners of the baking tray. Place the mini loaf pans in between the pillars and in between the field and the stands. Make the flags and glue them or tape them to the skewers.
- Start by filling up the football stadium with guacamole. Transfer the sour cream to a Ziplock bag and snip off the ends. Draw lines on the outside edges, replicating the lines on the field. If you like you can write ball is life, even though that is a basketball reference---who cares! Next, make the goal posts by cutting the beef jerky into 4 pieces and attaching them with toothpicks (see above photo for reference).
- Add the salsas, onion dip and ranch dressing to the pillars. Add the carrots, celery, chips and tortilla chips to the stands. Heat up the nacho cheese in the loaf pans and add them to the stadium. Add the veggie sandwiches all the way around.
