How to Make Easy Miso Lemon Salmon

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together the miso, honey, sesame oil, grated ginger, garlic powder, lemon zest, and lemon juice until smooth.

  1. Place the salmon fillets on a foil-lined baking sheet and season both sides lightly with kosher salt.

  • Pat the salmon dry first. This helps the glaze cling and prevents steaming.

This Miso Lemon Salmon is a fast, high-flavor dinner that comes together in under 20 minutes with pantry-friendly ingredients. The miso-honey glaze turns savory, lightly caramelized, and deeply satisfying under the broiler.

Equipment

Ingredients 

Miso Salmon:

  • 1 ยฝ tablespoons white or yellow miso
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 ยฝ teaspoons toasted sesame oil
  • 1 ยฝ teaspoons freshly grated ginger
  • ยฝ teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon finely grated lemon zest
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 4 (4-ounce) filets almon, patted dry
  • Kosher salt, to taste

For Serving:

  • white rice, cooked
  • avocado, peeled and sliced
  • toasted nori sheets
  • sesame seeds, for garnish
  • green onions, thinly sliced

Instructions 

To Make the Miso Salmon:

  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the miso, honey, sesame oil, grated ginger, garlic powder, lemon zest and lemon juice.
  • Pre-heat oven to the broiler setting. Line a small baking sheet or baking tray with foil. This makes for easy cleaning. Place the filets on the baking sheet a few inches apart. Sprinkle both sides of the filets with kosher salt. Brush the miso paste all over each of the filets. I really coated it on there!
  • Transfer to a broiler for 5-7 minutes, until the edges of the salmon are toasty.

To Assemble:

  • Serve them with the white rice, avocado, nori sheets, sesame seeds and green onions.
