Remember Spring Break?! (Maybe you’re in college or high school and are lucky enough to be on Spring break or be on the verge of your break. I’m jealous.)

Where I went to college (Winston-Salem, North Carolina), the thing to do was to drive down to Savannah, Georgia and celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. I was usually too poor to do this, but I did it one year and OMG that city knows how to celebrate St. Paddy’s Day. The entire city shuts down and everyone is in the street, drinking, partying and being spooked by possible ghosts. Savannah is beautifully haunted.

Nowadays, the idea of drinking green beer in the street sounds like hell. Literally, you could not pay me. I’d much rather sit on a quiet beach where I can relax, drink a cocktail and have no one speak to me for hours at a time. That’s what I crave at this age: silence and alcohol.

Yogurt Dill Biscuits

Biscuits, Breakfast

Why am I thinking of Halloween costumes in May? WHY.

But hear me out: Selena. Not Selena Gomez, good gracious no. Selena…like the movie. You know, the only movie in the world where Jennifer Lopez doesn’t make me wanna poke my eyes out. That Selena.

There would be a tacky, very 90’s rhinestoned hat involved, and maybe even a more rhinestoned bustier (though I might be shy!). Tight pants and lots of red lipstick. I’m obsessed.

OR

I could go as Dionne, and get my friend Teri to be Cher. Dionne would be fuuuuuny.

I feel like you all should have a vote. You know, help me decide. But don’t worry, we have plenty of time, guys. No rush.

Making/eating these yogurt dill biscuits should take precedent over voting. These should definitely be on your weekend to-do list.

Twice Baked Potatoes, Two Ways

Dinner, Sides

Hiiii Abby!!!

This blog post is dedicated to Abby.

Abby emailed me a few weeks ago requesting a recipe that could be made in the microwave. You see…Abby is shacking it up in a dorm this year with only two kitchey-type tools at her disposal: a microwave and a mini-fridge. And since she wants to spend her money on more important things like booze, shoes textbooks, she wanted it to be budget friendly.

No biggie, Abby; I got you, gurrrrl!

Meet the Twice Baked Potatoes. They meet the criteria, for sure. They’re perfect for fallish, chilly weather; they take barely any effort/money; and they can be made in either a microwave OR oven. #thricebingo

I made ’em two ways: decadent and amazing (bacon, cheddar, jalapenos, sour cream) and healthy and good (yogurt, chives, zucchini).

I’m not even gonna pretend the healthy way tastes better. It just doesn’t. BUT it is healthier …so there’s that.
