Viral recipes aren’t always *that* good. Trust me. But this one is delicious. Erewhon grocery store in Los Angeles has become famous for their smoothie collaborations. This Strawberry Glaze Skin Smoothie with Hailey Bieber is my all-time favorite. Pair this with olive oil fried eggs for a delicious healthy breakfast.

Ingredients You’ll Need for the Hailey Bieber Strawberry Glaze Skin Smoothie

Ingredients for Hailey Bieber Strawberry Glaze Skin Smoothie.
  1. Strawberries – We’re using fresh AND frozen. The fresh are for the strawberry glaze and frozen is for the smoothie itself.
  2. Frozen banana – I love using frozen bananas because they result in a super creamy smoothie.
  3. Sea moss Gel – Full of nutrients like Vitamin B2, calcium, magnesium, and zinc.
  4. Liquid Hylaronic Acid – This goes in with the strawberry glaze. It’s supposed to be very hydrating and good for your joints.
  5. Powdered collagen – High in protein.
  6. Coconut cream – Thick coconut cream is smothered on the sides. Feel free to stick it in the fridge overnight to thicken. Make sure you’re not using coconut milk as it won’t be as thick and won’t coat the glass.
  7. Dates – We’re using this as a sweetener.
  8. Avocado – This helps with some of the creaminess.

For the rest of the ingredients, please see the recipe index card below!

Recipe Tip

This smoothie calls for a few ingredients that might be hard to find. They are as follows:

  • Liquid hylaronic acid. I found the brand by NeoCell and purchased it. Feel free to leave it out if you can’t find it.
  • Sea moss gel. This is an ingredient that is super popular in the caribbean. It can be very inexpensive if you process it yourself. Most health food stores have it in a gel form that stays in the fridge.
  • Powdered collagen. You can use collagen or substitute it with your favorite protein powder. I used a collagen from the brand Vital Proteins.
  • Coconut cream. Be sure not to confuse this with coconut milk from the can. Coconut cream can usually be found in a small can. I used the one from the brand Zuma Valley.

Recipe FAQs

If I can’t find the liquid hylaronic acid, can I leave it out?

Yep, feel free to simply leave it out; it’ll still taste the same.

If I can’t find sea moss, can I leave it out?

Yes, simply leave it out. The smoothie will still taste delicious.

What does liquid hylaronic acid do?

Hyaluronic acid is very good at retaining water. A quarter-teaspoon of hyaluronic acid holds about one and a half gallons of water. Obviously I can’t promise it does anything but people have stated that digesting it has helped their joints.

Hi! This is very nice but every time I make it, there is SUCH a bitter flavor to it ๐Ÿ™ I used all frozen fruit and avocado. Do you think maybe the avocado I bought isnโ€™t ripe enough? I also bought Sea Moss but it doesnโ€™t seem too bitter on its own. Maybe once it is mixed in? I canโ€™t figure it out!

    1. Hmmm…it might be the avocado? That’s the only thing I can think. The banana should add a pretty good amount of sweetness, along with the date. Next time you can add a little drizzle of honey if you want to.

Wow, This sounds amazing. Iโ€™ve been wanting to try the Hailey Bieber smoothie but never thought I could make it at home. Do you think substituting sea moss gel with something else would work? Also, how important is the liquid hyaluronic acid?

    1. sea moss and hylaronic acid aren’t totally necessary. you could leave those two things out and it still taste great!

Easy to make and absolutely delish. I skip the syrup and put the hylaronic acid directly in the smoothie because I found it too sweet otherwise. Itโ€™s such a good dupe with the sea moss gel.

    1. Amazing to hear! I sometimes just skip the syrup too because the base is like the most delicious and simple strawberry smoothie! Glad you like it. ๐Ÿ™‚

Absolutely loved this! I may omit the cream coconut as it goes hard once the smoothie added.

    1. interesting. what type of coconut cream did you use? mine didn’t go hard at all. ๐Ÿ™‚

      1. Iโ€™m in the uk so used something called Creamed coconut which is used in cooking, so was probably the wrong thing to use lol.

    1. It lasts up to two weeks in the fridge in an airtight container. You could also freeze it in ice cube trays and defrost one when you need it.

      1. This is a great recipe, although I’ve never been to erewhon, so i can’t compare it to the real thing. I made the mistake of buying creme of coconut and it was like almost a syrup that hardened when cold, yikes!
I used Piping Rock hyaluronic acid, which is berry flavored and really adds a little something extra! I also add in a scoop of vegan vanilla protein powder along with my collagen protein, so it can be more of a meal replacement!
I bought strawberry sea moss gel and Blueberry sea moss gel, so I’m planning on cooking up a pint of blueberries and trying the same recipe but with all strawberry ingredients subbed with blueberries, just for a change up ๐Ÿ™‚ my bff is going through chemo treatments and she said that the smoothies helped with her nausea and overall wellbeing, somehow!

  5. I didn’t have some of the ingredients (like the seamoss gel) but followed the recipe and it tastes exactly like the one from Erewhon. So good!

  6. I’m a little confused about the amount of fruit in this. So 1 serving has 2 cups of strawberries and a whole banana? That’s a lot of fruit. The nutrition facts estimate this smoothie has 151 calories, but the strawberries, banana and avocado alone would be around 265 calories. Am I missing something?

    1. One serving has one cup of whole frozen strawberries (about 3 strawberries) and one whole banana. The glaze goes on the side of the glass and you can use as much as you like. This automatically calculates the calories so I would use your *own* calculation is that’s important to you.
